Artistic Statement
When thinking about art I think about emotion. I rarely think about following strict rules and parameters - I think about what is the best approach to impress my 16 year old self. At that time in my life I discovered who I was or who I believe am meant to be. However as any 16 year old I believed I didn't have enough time and when life forced me to choose between one of my many passions, I simply replied "no".
When people talk about the 10 000 hour rule - they more often than not believe that you should put these hours into a single thing and then maybe try something else. How I look at it is - I need to put 10 000 hours into as many things as possible, see where they overlap and end up with the most versatile competency skill set.
I believe that a true artist is one of many virtues - for he who knows less can not truly understand the depth of his creation.
